Dreams as Messengers: What Your Night Life Might Be Trying to Tell You
There are nights when you wake up from a dream and just know it mattered.
You can’t fully explain it, and it might not even make sense, but something about it stays with you.
And then there are all the other nights, the ones we forget, brush off, or label as random.
But what if none of it is random?
What if your dreams are one of the most honest ways your inner world speaks to you?
Dreams Aren’t Random, They’re Personal
Most of us were never taught how to think about dreams.
So we either ignore them or try to search for what they mean.
But Jung saw dreams differently.
He believed dreams come from the unconscious mind, the deeper part of you that holds your emotions, your memories, your untapped potential, and the parts of you that don’t always get a voice during the day.
Dreams don’t speak in clear sentences or explain themselves neatly.
Instead, they communicate through images and impressions, a house, a road, a stranger, an old friend, or a place you’ve never been but somehow recognize.
It’s less about decoding them like a puzzle and more about noticing what they stir in you.
Your Day Self vs. Your Night Self
During the day, you’re focused on getting things done.
You’re thinking, planning, responding, and showing up the way you’ve learned to.
There’s a version of you that knows how to function in the world.
But at night, that version softens, and something else begins to emerge.
It’s the part of you that feels what you didn’t have time to feel, notices what you brushed past, holds desires you haven’t said out loud, and sees patterns you’re still inside of.
Dreams don’t follow your schedule or wait until you’re ready. They show you what’s already there.
When a Dream Won’t Let You Go
Some dreams fade quickly, while others stay with you.
You might find yourself thinking about one hours later, remembering it days after, or carrying a feeling you can’t quite shake.
That’s usually a sign to pause, not to analyze it perfectly, but to stay with it a little longer.
Instead of asking, “What does this mean?” you might try something simpler:
What stood out to me?
What did I feel in that moment?
Does this remind me of anything in my life right now?
You don’t need the full answer. Sometimes all you need is a thread to follow.
Dreams and the Parts You Don’t See Yet
Sometimes dreams bring forward things you already know but haven’t fully admitted.
Other times, they introduce you to parts of yourself that feel unfamiliar.
You might dream of being more confident than you feel in real life, more expressive, more direct, or more vulnerable. You might also dream of fear, tension, or conflict.
None of this is random.
It’s your inner world showing you both what’s been pushed aside and what might be ready to grow.
In this way, dreams are closely connected to shadow work. They often reveal the parts of you that don’t show up easily during the day but still belong to you.
A Simple Way to Start Paying Attention
You don’t need to do anything complicated to begin.
Start small.
Keep a notebook by your bed and write down a few words when you wake up, even if they’re just fragments. Notice how the dream felt, not just what happened, and let it sit with you instead of rushing to interpret it.
Over time, you may begin to notice patterns, not all at once, but gradually.
And that’s enough.
This Isn’t About Getting It “Right”
There’s no perfect way to understand a dream, and no one else can tell you exactly what yours means.
Your dreams are shaped by your life, your experiences, and your inner landscape.
What matters most is the relationship you build with them, your willingness to pause, notice, and take what arises seriously in a different way.
A Space to Explore This More Deeply
If this reflection stirred something, a thought, a feeling, or a question you can’t quite name, you don’t have to hold it on your own.
I’m beginning something new: the Wild New Way Women’s Collective.
We’ve begun gathering on Wednesday mornings, and for this month we’ll meet again on April 15 and April 22 at the Durango Collective (1315 Main Ave).
These early gatherings are a chance to come together with other women, explore what’s been coming up in your life, and shape what this space becomes, together.'
Doors open at 8:30 AM for connection and gathering.
At 9:00 AM, I’ll guide an envisioning exercise, followed by a conversation around what’s been coming up in your life, what’s shifting, what’s asking for attention, and what you might be wanting more of.
This is a simple, grounded space for real conversation, honest reflection, and reconnecting with what feels true for you.
Why we gather:
To reconnect with your own inner wisdom through reflection, conversation, and shared experience.
To be seen and supported by other women who understand.
To step out of the noise and into something more real and grounded.
To remember who you are beneath the roles you carry.
What to expect over time:
A shared envisioning process both personal and collective where each woman’s voice helps shape what this becomes.
Conversations inspired by Jungian psychology and Eastern wisdom.
Occasional guest speakers bringing depth, insight, and lived experience.
A space where you can exhale, speak honestly, and find meaningful connection and support.
This is very much a work in progress, and your thoughts, perspective, and participation are part of shaping it.
You’re welcome to come, listen, and share as much or as little as you’d like.
The first gatherings are free, and space is limited.

A Conversation on the Parts of You Still Waiting to Be Claimed
If your dreams have been hinting at something more, a version of you that feels just out of reach, this May’s book club continues that exploration.
We’re reading The Golden Shadow Method by Melanie Ryan.
While much of shadow work focuses on what we’ve pushed away, this book turns toward something just as important: the strengths, confidence, creativity, and potential we’ve never fully owned.
These are often the parts of you that show up when you admire someone else and think, “I wish I could be more like that.”
Those qualities aren’t random. They’re reflections of something in you that hasn’t been fully claimed yet.
This conversation will explore how to recognize the qualities you’ve projected onto others, understand why admiration and comparison can be meaningful clues, reconnect with your own confidence and voice, and begin integrating what’s already within you.

A Final Thought
Your dreams aren’t trying to confuse you, they’re trying to reach you.
Not in a loud or obvious way, but in a quieter way that asks you to slow down and listen differently.
And as you begin to notice them more, you may realize that a part of you has been speaking all along.
With love and light,
