Imposter Syndrome

I have had a few clients lately mention they feel like they have imposter syndrome. Have you ever searched for the next certification, the next training or the next self help book because you feel like you are just not enough yet? Whether that be in your profession, love relationship, as a parent, etc. I know I have gone through this. We are showing up in the world and still not feeling like we are enough or know enough even with all of our education, experience and insight.

I finally realized through the Jungian work that I was not an imposter, I just had not accepted and integrated all aspects of myself. There were the parts I thought I had to show up as and the parts I had pushed away due to my past conditioning. My persona and my shadow. Being able to work with my unconscious is where I began to truly realize I was not this personality that had been created by my past experiences and I no longer had to repress or feel triggered by those qualities I could not show up as due to other past experiences. We are conditioned through our emotional experiences when we are very young and unconsciously create a way of being in the world that did help us survive and fit in then, but is no longer fully serving us now. It is likely holding us back from living to our potential and unconsciously making us feel like imposters.

How do we integrate these aspects of ourselves? We cannot look at our unconscious, conditioned mind directly with our conscious mind but you will see it in the results you get. The results are a mirror of what is going on in the unconscious mind. What are the results you are seeing in your life, work or relationships? Are they what you want them to be? That will be your clue to where you need to work with your unconscious mind. Any external conflict is pointing to your own internal conflict. It is gold ~ that is where you can begin to see more clearly and take back the power to create the results you want.

I would love to hear your thoughts and questions about this in the comments below!

Be well,

Cindy
